FireFox 3.0 (yes, 3.0) is now available for download. (AKA MineField)

Yes, FireFox 2.0 is just going from alpha to beta stage, but a build of FF 3.0 (aka MineField) is also online for download. It’s code-named MineField  for a reason – don’t deploy this in your production environment.

That said, it’s running very stable on my box. No crashes and only a few minor rendering issues on selected sites. Gotta love tabbed browsing.

FireFox 3.0 will be based on Gecko 1.9 (whereas FF 2.x runs off the 1.8.1 engine).

Off topic : Office 2007 introduces a new default font : Calibri – I love it, renders very nicely onscreen in ClearType.
