Entrust Identity Profile (for soft token) disappears after upgrading Android

Entrust Mobile IdentityGuard OTPIf you have an Entrust Soft Token application (for two-factor authentication) that use to access secure sites, be aware that if you upgrade your Android operating system – your tokens … or identity profiles, as they’re called in the Entrust OTP app may disappear! I discovered this, almost by chance, a couple of days after installing an OTA update that upgraded Android from 4.3.2 to 4.4.2 (Kit Kat)… the 437MB update went fine, but by chance I wanted to connect to a corporate remote email Outlook Web Access system… when I went to get my key from the Entrust app, the profile was gone!

In my particular case, it happened with Entrust Identity Guard Mobile OTP Version on Android 4.4.2.

I suspect it has to do with Entrust using something with the Android operating system kernel as part of the authentication or encryption process. When the OS is upgraded, the profile token needs to be recreated.

This may also apply to iPhone or iPad users if they do an iOS upgrade.
